Starting from the bottom shelf, this showcase re-traces the fantastic history of hand-built "pro" cars, devised by smarter kids after their disappointment with commercially available kits. It also started a trend which was harmful to the hobby, driving away the average hobbyist who could not compete, and the modelers who wanted to race true scale model cars. |

Below is Jose Rodriguez Jr. only known surviving 1/32 scale slot car racing box and contents, dating from 1967-68. The cars are intact, and the box in superb condition. It was found in a swap meet in New York City by slot car enthusiast Albert Bisaccia in 1998. |
